I am and Australian-born, native English speaker and trained Australian English teacher

- I have teaching experience in Australian Secondary Schools teaching English Literature to students from ages 13-18 years.

- ELTS exam tutoring in both Australia and Malaysia. The main skills focused on throughout IELTS exam preparation are; Writing: techniques in persuasive, argumentative letter, report writing and essay structure. Reading: scanning, skimming, visualization and comprehension skills. Listening and Speaking skills: building vocabulary, confidence and clarity while speaking and responding to questions.

- General Business English and academic English skills in all areas of reading, writing, listening (conversational) and speaking.

- I have extensive knowledge and experience teaching secondary students from all forms/years as well has A level students in English Literature. I have experience teaching students the skills to analyse literature, write comparative essays and literary analysis/essays in a well formulated manner.

 

My aim as an educator is to create in my student/s a deep understanding and confidence in speaking, writing, reading and listening to the English language. My teaching approach and techniques is catered to each individual student/s needs and learning styles. My teaching approach is allowing and encouraging students to enjoy learning English and to think for themselves, using real-world examples in approaching the English language. I believe through setting mutual high expectations with student/s high results are achieved. I start from understanding the strengths and weakness of student/s and build on their strengths as a foundation for learning. With exam preparation I forus on past/example papers, this allows the student/s to work through and become comfortable with reading and understanding exam questions and formats. I give great emphasis on the vital skills of reading, writing and speaking such as essay structure and technique, scanning, body language, logical thought and confidence.
