5 years tutoring experience. Have taught children from ages 5 to 17.
Self Description
I am a patient tutor, for I believe that every child/student is able to learn, one way or the other. I never believe that it is "impossible to teach a student" or if "a student is born stupid".
I may not have a specific degree in Education, but I believe that my years of teaching experience compensate for it. I have been tutoring since I was in my college days. I started off tutoring Language subjects (English and BM) and since then, I have widened my teaching scope to include Mathematics and Additional Mathematics (for SPM level students).
I have also tutored before kindergarten students (from ages as young 5).
My students range from Kindergarten all the way to Form 5. I am able to converse in basic Chinese Language (Mandarin) and therefore this helps my students who are from Chinese schools whenever they need a translation.
To me, the real definition of a tuition success = a dedicated tutor + a hard-working student. Most parents are miscontrued and often mistaken a tutor as a miracle worker. They expect that if they send their kids to a "popular" or "experienced" tutor, it is guaranteed that his/her child would score with flying colours. I have also encountered parents who expect results within a couple of weeks. I do not guarantee results if your child does not give me his/her 110%. A tutor may pour sweat and blood over his/her students, but if the child does not go home and revise or finishes up the homework given, it is as good as pouring hard-earned money down the drain.
If you agree with my above statements or opinions, do give me a call and we shall witness the miracles that can happen if there is a dedicated tutor + a hard-working student!
