Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn is a quote by Benjamin Franklin. The above quote has stayed with me throughout my 24 years of teaching life. It never fails to amaze me how children shine when they are very much involved in their own learning. I have always believed that children should get excited with learning and they only do that when they have fun while learning. When they like learning then they become self-motivated. When they are self-motivated then they become independent leaners. Teaching them to become independent learners has been my ultimate goal all these years.

I chose to be a teacher because every child needs someone to believe in them, and that they will be given the opportunity to shine with their strengths as well as their existence cherished in this world as individuals with different uniqueness and personality along with different level of understanding. That is what I have aimed for and will aim when I am teaching them.

My expertise lies in learning difficulties and behaviour modification. I tend to not give up easily and that is a positive trait that one needs while working with children with additional needs because when one method fails then I try another and another until I have reached my goal. That is how I have learnt plenty of strategies in addressing the needs of many children with additional needs.
